Bethlehem Architecture Firm now offering service in Spanish

Bonsall Shafferman Architects and Space Planners is pleased to announce Ana Sarachaga’s one year anniversary with the firm. Ms. Sarachaga provides bilingual English and Spanish-speaking ability to better serve the Lehigh Valley’s growing Latino-owned businesses. In 2016, Ana Sarachaga, AIA, who studied Architecture at the University of Puerto Rico, joined the firm, which is headed by Fred Bonsall and specializes in helping businesses expand and grow. “Nosotros trabajamos arduamente como tu,” the website reads. “We work as hard as you do.”

The move comes on the heels of the May 2 release of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.’s study that found “Latino entrepreneurs are starting companies 50 times faster than any other demographic group and becoming a bigger part of the total U.S. consumer market every day.”

While Latinos currently make up just 7 percent of the Pennsylvania population, nationwide this number is expected to rise to one-third by 2050 — “translating into immense buying power,” the J.P. Morgan Chase report says. Bonsall Shafferman is staying ahead of the curve on these changes … and keeping pace with recent developments. According to the National Council for La Raza, a nonpartisan voice for Latinos for nearly 50 years,  the number of Latino-owned businesses in Pennsylvania increased by 53 percent between 2007 and 2012, the most recent year for which data are available.
