The structure was originally built in 1885 as the Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church in Wescosville. Werner & Company, a growing accounting firm that had been renting space saw an opportunity to own a unique building. The company purchased the building in 2014. Improvements made to the building included building envelope upgrades, new HVAC systems, and creating more openess by the removal of sections of floor and allowing natural light. One fortuitous discovery was one of the original stain glass windows found in the bell tower. This window became the basis of the interior color scheme. The stain glass is on display in the front window and serves as a fitting link to the building’s past. The Client is excited that the newly renovated building preserves and honors the past while responding to current needs. An 1800’s church is reinvented into a vibrant and dynamic space that intentionally contrasts old and new.
